Location: USS Armitage - Temporary Quarters
Timeline: March 16th 2397 - 04:30

[USS Armitage - Temporary Shared Quarters]

The chime rung constantly on the door of the away teams shared quarters. It echoed through the room loudly. The ships chronometer in the room showed the current time of 04:30 in the morning.

Ever the vigilant one, it was Lieutenant Inoue- of whom was already sleeping with one eye open- who was first to her feet, cautiously retrieving her herald staff as she made her way over to answer the door while her colleagues began to stir.

Opening the door, she was greeted by Captain Kushieda. She was still in her nightwear of a simple short camisole and loose shorts.

"Is there something I can get you, Captain?" she asked, all too aware of the fact that it was unusual for Minori to be calling at this hour- especially given that they weren't due to depart for another two and a half hours.

"I need you to wake everyone up. Especially Commander Johnson." Minori said simply as she stepped inside. "There is no time to waste."

Immediately recognizing that this was potentially serious, Takina turned her head back towards the bedroom where the rest of the away team was housed.

"Rise and shine! We've got a situation!" she called out, hoping that the announcement would spur her colleagues into action.

Teneca rose from her bunk and began checking her equipment.

"Heralds are onto us?" He asked expecting their plan to somehow have a hiccup.

Nezuko sat up pretty quickly and began checking over her things. No matter how deeply she was sleeping, she usually managed to wake without difficulty. The battery for her respirator looked fine, even if she had to wear it all night. She signaled to Thomas and the others that she was alright and ready to get to work, despite the early hour.

Commander Hunt was curious to what seemed to be an emergency. "What's happening?"

Once everyone was awake, Minori looked at each of them. "There's been a change of plans. Quite a drastic one." she explained to them. "Commander Johnson. You've been recalled back to the Tokyo. Captain Aisaka has had to be transported by runabout to Starbase Forty Three on a medical emergency. You're needed back on Tokyo to take command in the upcoming attack." Minori explained.

"However, you are all still to continue with your mission. However, the team leader will be under the next senior officer." she looked over at Hunt. "I imagine that you will fall to you Lieutenant Commander?" she asked.

The one thing that Devon hated was a last minute change of plans. Especially when dealing with an enemy such as this one. But regardless the show must go on. "I'm ready to take the lead."

Lieutenant Inoue furrowed her brow; something about this development wasn't setting right with her, though what exactly it was was much more difficult to place a finger on.

"If it's any business of mine to be asking, Captain," she spoke up. "What exactly is the nature of Captain Aisaka's medical emergency?"

"I don't have any specific details at this time." Minori said simply. "Once you have launched, we will be returning to the Tokyo. The Armitage is faster than a runabout."

"Considering how her pregnancy is currently. Im thinking something to do with her baby. Otherwise I would not see her leaving Tokyo," He paused. "I see that you have several new deltaflyer class shuttles. I can take that."

"We can take you back once the away team is away on the shuttle." Minori replied. "We have to return to the task group anyways, so it makes sense for you to stick on board with us." she explained to him. "I would however suggest an earlier launch for your mission." she added looking to the others.

"You heard her people, sleeps over, get to the shuttlebay." Thomas replied he looked around the quarters, "Looks like everything is in the shuttle."

Devon looked back at Thomas as the team gathered onto the shuttle. "Guess, we'll see you on the other side, Commander."

"Be careful out there thats an order." Thomas replied, truth be told he was disappointed, but the ship needed him more.

Minori turned to them all. "You launch in an hour." she told them all. "The shuttle is being prepared as we speak. We have included some extra rations due to the extended mission time." Minori explained. "Report to the shuttlebay on one hour for launch. Commander, you'll be seeing your people off before reporting to the Bridge. We'll then return to the task force."

"Who will be assuming command of the task force with the Captain out of commission."

Minori looked Commander Johnson directly in the eyes. "The Tokyo will still be the command ship. Next after Taiga, you are the most experienced officer and crew regarding the Heralds. Therefore, the command of the Task Force will fall upon you." Minori explained.

"Me in command of a task force..." Thomas paused for just a moment. This was big, this fell mainly to admirals, and captains, rarely someone less. Nonetheless. "Aye Captain."

Minori nodded simply. "One hour people. I suggest you get moving." she then turned on a heel and left the room heading back into the corridor.

"Lets go over what the plan is during that hour then I will see you all off." Thomas replied turned to the group. "Grab your stuff and lets head to the shuttle bay."
