| Personal History | Devon was born in New York City, Earth where he spent the majority of his life. His father Jerome Sr. worked as an engineer, while their mother Carol worked as a teacher on Earth who never felt the need to leave the planet. Being born almost 11 months after his older brother Jerome, the two got along quite well most of the time. Both brothers always should an interest in joining Starfleet, but it wasn't until they visited their older cousin Kenneth at Starfleet Academy was where he made up his mind. At the Academy, Devon majored in security and tactical field. As soon as he arrived he found himself under the shadow his older brother who seemed to be on everyone's good side. Jerome had no issue taking his younger brother under his wing. Which was cool at first, but he soon realized that he was just his younger brother. Regardless of the fact that Jerome was majoring in flight control. During Sophomore year at the Academy, Devon intentionally decided to pull away from his brother and their friends opting to start creating his own friend groups. Regardless of how they felt about this decision, he found this to be best for his own mental health. Over the next few years at the Academy, Devon joined the soccer team which he was good at but nowhere near the best. Senior year he even took an interest in cooking when he began dating a Chef. Though the relationship did only last 6 months. Cooking was something that he loved and brought him a sense of peace and satisfaction. So he continued with it. During breaks, holidays and during the summer, Hunt and his beat friends Lira and Maon would travel to random destinations that had on their mutual bucket list. Upon graduating from the academy, the new Ensign Hunt was assigned to the USS Ridge, which was assigned near the Cardassian border. Being below decks, Devon found himself doing a lot of the grunt work that was never really discussed in the history of all the great Commanding Officers of Starfleet. Growing up in a predominately Starfleet family, this was much of the work that was left out. Yes, there was some action on occasion. But mostly standing guard in positions where he never even had contact with the individuals he was assigned to help protect. Nonetheless, Devon proceeded to try to be the best officer that he could be. After spending some time learning his job, Devon had heard about the conflict with the Gelrakians. Curious about the decision to assign a Gelrakian to a Starfleet vessel as a Captain, Ensign Hunt requested a transfer to the USS Quebec. After two years on the Quebec, Devon was eventually promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade. A year after the promotion, he transferred to the USS Relentless as the Assistant Chief Security/Tactical Officer. During this time, Devon had met his wife Anya Briggs while on shoreleave and quickly got married. And not too long afterwards came the two children Jasmine and Anthony. Realizing that family was the most important thing to him, Hunt passed up on several opportunities that would have fast tracked his career. These things in opinion would have taken him away from his family. So, he remained on the Relentless and was promoted to Lieutenant in 2386 and retainedt the position of Chief Security/Tactical Officer. In 2392, Devon was offered the position of Chief Security/Tactical Officer on Starbase 234. This came with a promotion to Lt. Commander and after discussing the overall benefits for the family as a whole, he accepted. For the past 7 years, Hunt had built a reputation and a good life with his family on the Starbase. But when the Iconian attacked the Starbase. During the attack, he lost so many friends and people that he considered family. After being rescued by the USS Tokyo, Devon found himself reassigned and now dealing with the loss of his wife Anya. His children were transported to Earth in order to be with family. |
