Mission: Flight Of The Valkyries
Location: Transporter Room 1

Thomas had just arrived back to the Tokyo, and had summoned the Doctor to the transporter room when he arrived for an update. As he walked off the pad, he noticed her standing near the door.

However it wasn't the doctor he'd expected to see, instead it was a redhead with an extremely worried look on her face. "Commander, thank god you're here. The Captain and Doc Valentine left the ship a while ago on their way to Starbase 43." She extended her hand, then wiped it on her pants before extending it again, "Doctor Aria Montembeault, Nyx put me in charge of Medical while she's gone with the Captain."

"Walk and talk Dr. Give me the updated situation of the Captain." Thomas replied as he walked towards the door leading out of the shuttle bay.

The doctor hurried to keep up, "There were complications with her childbirth, so we had to do a C-Section. She's got a fair amount of internal bleeding and neither I nor Doctor Valentine could figure out the reason why. It was almost as if it was at random and we didn't have the time to do a full diagnosis before she packed the Captain up and took a runabout." She shook her head, "At this point, I give her a fifty-fifty chance of making it to the Starbase alive, but if she can get there, they have much better facilities than we do."

"That bad eh." He replied as they walked into the turbolift. "What does the crew know."

"Aside from myself and maybe one of the nurses? Nothing, unless the Lieutenant told someone else on their way out. Oh, and someone in flight control, he had to get clearance for the runabout." Aria shook her head slightly, "As far as I know, no one outside this group knows that she's off the ship, sir."

"If anyone questions about her whereabouts... considering my return before the mission I was supposed to lead, she was recalled by starfleet command regarding a new development with the Iconians... they don't need to be distracted." Thomas replied as the lift came to a stop.

"Yes, sir." Aria stated uncomfortably. She was a medical professional and while she wasn't going to divulge someone else's private details, this had been another situation entirely: The new Commanding Officer needed to know. Still, an outright lie could affect the morale of the crew, especially since they knew that the Captain was fully pregnant. "I think that they're going to be distracted no matter what we tell them, sir."

"Its better than telling them she may be dead before she gets to starbase to have her child." Thomas replied as he walked to the ready room. "If there are any complaints about the lying, I will assume responsibility. We get this mission complete, and I will let the Captain let the crew know. If the unthinkable happens... I will break the news to the crew. Until then..."

"I understand, sir." Aria wished it were someone else in her shoes, but the orders were clear, both from the Commander, or should she say, Captain now, even if just on a temporary basis, as well as from her own department head. "Is there anything that Medical can do to assist you, sir?"

"Just make sure medical is prepped for the incoming casualties that we are bound to have. How many triage centers do we have on the ship." He walked around and sat in the Captains seat. "Is there anything you require of me." He asked as he leaned back.

"We have main sickbay all prepared, the Flight Deck sickbay is ready and manned and we've got two other triage points on decks fourteen and eight, only nurses in charge there, but they'll forward any serious injuries to either sickbay for further treatment." She gave as brave a smile as she could, "There may be a need to stretcher bearers if we get too many casualties, but otherwise we should be all set and ready to go."

Bringing up a list of personnel. "We have an abundant of science crewman onboard as well as counsellors. Recruit them to be your bearers. Captains orders." Thomas replied as he looked through the ships personnel. "If need be look at other department thats not in a main role, with any type of medical knowledge to assist the triage nurses."

"I'll make sure they're put to good use." Aria promised, "There are always things that I can do to keep people busy and not thinking about what's happening around them. Even if it's just getting blankets and talking to the injured to keep their morale up."

"Good if there is nothing else, dismissed."
